Stony Valley

It was a good weekend. Saturday I had fun taking pictures of the "chicklets" as Corby calls Laura's babies. They are just gorgeous and so good! Sunday went on the annual Stony Valley drive. We drove for 2 hours(11 miles at 9 mph) to reach our desired spot on the trail. We had a picnic lunch in the woods then we explored the old foundations for 2 more hours. Along the trail there are spots that you can stop to look at old village foundations. They were thriving towns in the 1800's but now are nothing more than big holes in the ground with rocks around. It is fun to think about all of the history in the foundations. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves on how much fun we had. We picked up and planted 2 Red Oak trees. This week is going to be busy with Apple talk as well as Becktoberfest preparation.
